How early should I book my beach session?

Summer weekday sessions book up fairly quickly, as I take only a limited number of beach sessions each week. Once you’ve booked your stay, you should contact me for availability and to get on my calendar. That being said, even if it’s last minute I may be able to fit you in, so get in touch!

How should I prepare for my beach session?

Once you are ready to book, we’ll speak in person, over the phone or via email to plan the details of your session, including colors and clothing selections, groupings, etc.

Do I need to bring any props or accessories to my session?

We have a collection of props we bring depending on the ages of children participating – seashells, starfish, pails, boats (even a big one to sit in!), blankets and buckets. You are welcome to bring anything else you’d like to include – just give me a heads-up!

Can I have all the images from my session?

My hope is that you’ll love your images from our session! Each session comes with a selection of edited digital images (10, 20 or all). If you choose the 10 or 20 image session, you can add images for $15 each or 10 for $125. I don’t ever release RAW or unedited images.

Can I print my pictures wherever I want?

Yes, every session comes with a selection of your favorite images along with a print release allowing you to make prints, canvases, announcements, etc. I have suggestions for better consumer labs in your print release. You can also order products directly through me and my professional lab to ensure the highest quality.

How much does a beach session cost?

I have a few options for beach sessions, as listed directly above the Questions area. There is never an additional charge for extended families. I do ask for a $50 deposit to book your date once it’s decided.

What time is best for beach pictures?

I schedule all beach sessions for either sunrise or about an hour or so before sunset. To get the beautiful colors of our skies and to avoid the harsh overhead shadows, these times work best. I know getting up and ready for a sunrise session (especially while on vacation!) can be rough, I promise it is worth it!

What if it rains?

I am always keeping an eye on the weather, and if it looks like there is a good chance of rain during your session I’ll reach out to discuss the options. The options often include changing locations, moving the session to the next morning or evening (if I have it available), or in rare instances, canceling the session. Living on the coast, the weather frequently changes, and even if it’s raining on Pensacola Beach, it may only be overcast on Navarre Beach. Overcast skies are not a reason to cancel a beach session – we like cloudy and overcast!
