family sessions

There is nothing more beautiful than a family portrait that captures your family being together, laughing, smiling and enjoying each other. A good family photo is a keepsake, and will be passed down through generations.

It’s easy to put off scheduling family photos – it can be stressful to coordinate outfits and find a time in everyone’s busy schedules. When you choose a session with me, I’ll help you every step of the way – from choosing outfits, finding the perfect location, and making your session fun and engaging.

Questions & Answers

How should I prepare for my family session?

Once you are ready to book, we’ll speak in person, over the phone or via email to plan the details of your session, including colors and clothing selections, groupings, etc. You’ll also get a link to your personal Client Portal, with a questionnaire to help me get to know your family better and additional helpful information.

Do I need to bring any props or accessories to my session?

We have a collection of props we bring depending on the ages of children participating –  blankets and buckets to sit on or in, but typically we don’t include much in the way of props during family sessions. You are welcome to bring anything else you’d like to include – just give me a heads-up!

Can I print my pictures wherever I want?

Yes, every session comes with a selection of your favorite images along with a print release allowing you to make prints, canvases, announcements, etc. I have suggestions for better consumer labs in your print release. You can also order products directly through me and my professional lab to ensure the highest quality.

How much does a session cost?

I have a few options for beach sessions, as listed directly above the Questions area. There is never an additional charge for extended families. I do ask for a $50 deposit to book your date once it’s decided.

What time is best for family pictures?

The Golden Hour – the hour before sunset – is typically the best time of day to schedule a family session. The sun has started to set giving us a beautiful soft golden light to make the location beautiful. Some locations are better suited to a time a bit earlier in the day, such as Fort Pickens. We’ll determine your session time based on the location and time of sunset.
