As some of you may know, I was adopted at birth, and there’s a big soft spot in my heart for everyone in the triad. I volunteer for an organization called The Red Thread Sessions, whose mission to provide professional pictures for families who recently adopted. I got goosebumps when I first heard from Jessica and Steve, Katie’s adoptive mom and dad. They live in Oklahoma (where I was born!), and their daughter would be born soon in Pensacola, and they wanted me to do her newborn session! It was truly an honor to help Jessica and Steve capture the first days of them as a family. We did the first part of the session on Navarre Beach at sunset, and the indoor part of the session the next morning at my studio in Navarre.
